DJ Curtis at the microphone

Founder of The KrushNation

Forever on air

It is with heavy hearts that The KrushNation says goodbye to the man behind the music.

To the world, he was Lance — a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. To this station, he was DJ Curtis: the founder, and the voice of The KrushNation. He loved understanding how things worked. He loved music. He loved the color red. He especially loved his Camaro, Lady Victoria. And more than anything, he loved his family.

We are not sharing this only because he died. We are sharing it because he lived. Because his presence shaped us. And because the world feels a little different now that he is no longer physically here with us.

Although his life has ended, his story has not. It will continue every time we speak his name. Every time we tell one of his stories. Every time a song plays on The KrushNation. Every time we see a red Camaro roll by. Every time we hear Pink Floyd.

“The mic is quiet, but the music plays on.”

Dad, wherever you are, we hope the music is loud, Lady Victoria is polished, and Pink Floyd is playing.

Rest peacefully. We love you. Forever on air.

His shows

On the air since 2002

DJ Curtis was working in internet radio in the early days of the technology, starting in 2002 when internet radio was barely a thing. He founded The KrushNation and spent years behind the mic on Flashback 70s on Thursday nights and the All Vinyl Show on Fridays.

That Friday slot is still on the air. His son, DJ Lynix, took the wheel from 7 to 9 PM ET — same night, same frequency.
